On initial first look there is little on your site that clearly shows and that clearly states that you sell candles.

The images of beer bottles and angels and such down the left side of the site tell me nothing. Your logo and tag line could be bigger, and the images on the top of your page need to show candles, lit, in action, being used.

    Telegraph, don't whisper.

You also need to look into social media connections because at the moment there are no visible links telling people that you're on Facebook or Twitter.

What are your analytics telling you? How many people visit? Where do they look? What % buy? Where are they referred from?

How do your candles differ from others? What are your popular items? Why? Who's bought them? From where?

Focus on what's working, and better target these purchasers.

You cannot post a website and expect customers to flock to you. If you don't all ready, implement a publicity plan that includes traditional and social media, highlighting the "newest, efficient burning and most organic" candles. Share how they're made and why they're so spectacular.

Create an incentive program to reward your best customers. If they love your product, they will spread the word and covet your company even more because they're benefiting from their loyalty.

I agree with Garry. Photos should be product oriented. I would redo the photography and add the candle to these pictures. I was ready to buy the Soy Melts until I saw they were candles and I didn't think they would taste very good. :-)

Anyway that is not what will get your more traffic and more sales. These things, however, will:

1- More Traffic- Search engine optimization, social media, advertising, digital photo printing (blog relationships), Public Relations. Other promotional and advertising techniques.

2- Increase conversions- Work on product presentation, new products, free shipping, discount codes. Give current customers a reason to return and buy.

3- Increase order sale size- More products, add a "You may also like" feature to website. Mix in higher cost/quality items.

    Good luck.

I just bought a candle, because I think your product is very cool. I think you can make some changes in the process that could help sales. First the shipping charge seems very high $9.95 for a 10 once candle $14 candle. The post office may be able to help. Something to check on.

Also, you only take Paypal. Not everyone wants to use only Paypal. You might check on getting direct credit card accounts.

The candle I bought was Pumpkin Spice, my favorite smell.

How do people learn about and find you? Where/how do you advertise?

In addition to making the suggested changes on your website, I'd think you would be a perfect candidate for search advertising. Have you considered or tried that? If not, that's where I would go next.

If you need help with this, let me know. We've created some search advertising campaigns for small and medium-sized businesses that have been very effective. Or do it yourself. Perhaps, instead of having this as your first line of text: "Please feel free to browse our site," you should include a bit more info as to why soy candles are better than the "regular" candles. As one mentioned, clearly state the differences. I certaintly dont know the difference! TEACH US!
As well, testimonials from previous customers will help your site.
Looking at your website HTML source code, I dont see any keywords (just right click your mouse and select, View Source). That is a negative with SEO. Whoever developed your site forgot to include relavent keywords.
After Googling the words, "Soy candles," I found your site on the 5th page.
Doing some SEO procedures can surely get your site to the first page. Look at the other sites that are on the first 3 pgs and see their keywords.
    Need help, let me know.

Sorry, I forgot to mention. Your web designer needs to put "Alt" tags to your images as well. Search engines do NOT pickup the images, but do pickup the alt text to the images. These alt text tags are relavent keywords. Again, go to your competitors sites, and you will see the alt text to these images. Hope this helps.
