This looks like a cut and paste from an academic assignment. Let me explain the number one component of the marketing mix you won't find in any text book.

    YOU, THE MARKETER.

Your interpretations, ideas, and questions back to the "client" are they key to coming up with stunning, effective, cost-efficient marketing.

Notice this forum is called "Know-How Exchange". Not Free Homework Done Here.

Just think about those three words, and what they mean. Look them up in the dictionary if you have to.

Now if you come back here and ask a question about your assignment that shows you've put even one little bit of thought into how YOU are going to deal with this task, then the collective mass brainpower here will be a lot happier to help you.

For example, if you asked a question along the lines of "I am creating a marketing plan for a hospitality establishment and I want to understand how to split my marketing budget across the key areas of Customer Research, Advertising, New Product Development and Customer Service. The area I am most concerned about is X because of Y, any ideas...? Then you might attract some help.

We aren't here to create lazy marketers of the future.

    Yes, agreed, but there's more:

Product, Price, and Place are also key components of the marketing mix.

What is the Product in this hospitality establishment? One assumes it's a nice room, a clean bed, serviceable bathroom, meals and drinks on tap... But maybe it's much more (five star) - or much less (backpackers), depending on the positioning the establishment seeks.

Which answers may contribute towards the Pricing policies and objectives.

And help define the type of distribution channels to be used.

At that point it's good to start thinking about promotion and promotional channels. Before considering those other P's, it's a bit Premature (there's another ubiqitous "P") to start worrying about promotion, isn't it?
