What To Name My Business

Posted by rmkauff100 on 250 Points
I am a health and wellness coach. I support women over 40 who despite having tried every diet and countless hours in the gym, still can't lose weight. They describe themselves as fat, frumpy, frazzled and unfocused. Most often these women need to balance their hormones before they can lose weight. They can do this with out medication—most often- by tweaking their diet, learning how to exercise smarter-not harder, improving their sleep hygeine, and incorporating relaxation into their daily routine.

I am looking to name my business, Many of the names that I have come up with are already taken (domain names). I would like a catchy, but classy name as I am planning to coach mature women. My first name is Robin- and it would be ok to use my name. If possible I would also like my business name have at least one of the following words in it: health, wellness, weight loss.

I'm assuming that you're supporting women in your community...which is where?
Does the work you do replace a fitness coach as well, or is what you do mostly around life re-patterning?

Why must this name be "catchy"?

I live in Rhode Island. My support will not include fitness training. As a health coach I will be supporting clients to make health and lifestyle changes. My business name does not necessarily need to be catchy, but one that is memorable.

Both 40WaysToHealth.com and Fab40andFit.com are currently available, if interested.

Thanks Jay--but I am on the fence. Both are creative names, but not in love just yet. Maybe I an looking to deep???

When you are "not in love" with naming suggestions that seem to pass all the stated criteria, it's usually a good idea to figure out WHY. What about the suggested names make them not-perfect? Without that input, we're shooting at an invisible target. You are not even giving a clue about whether we're close or not.

As a separate issue, I would submit that YOU are not the target audience for the name. Whether YOU like (or love) it or not really shouldn't matter. The name needs to communicate an important and unique message to the target audience.

mgoodman, thank you for your comments. You are correct, I am not the target audience. The problem that I have with both of the names that were suggested is that they both include 40. I feel that this is somewhat limiting being that my niche includes women that are 40 and older. Maybe 40+Ways to Health???
