I Need Help With A New Descriptive Business Phrase

Posted by kl.wrubleski on 250 Points
Hi All,

I am in the process of rebranding my company. I have a gardening company in a large city that is saturated with construction landscapers, lawn companies and "I do everything under the sun" landscaping companies.

My company is specialized and focuses on garden maintenance, plant selection and design. Basically we are horticulturalists who have a passion for plants and gardening. I walk into so many jobs where large landscaping companies plunk the incorrect plant in the incorrect spot, plant it incorrectly or just don't give a crap because they don't know what their are doing or they want to get in and get out. My clients pay us to take care of their flowers, soil, weeding and all the aspects of fine gardening that can be tedious but a necessary evil in successful gardens. I am trying to move towards picking up higher end clients therefore need a new slogan or title. A lot of the jobs we do are rejuvenations. We work on existing landscapes

I tend to get a lot of calls for services that I do not provide.

Here is what I have tried in the past ( Company name is Bedworx )

Bedworx - specializing in flower beds
Bedworx - we maintain your curb appeal

Some of the new phrases I have come up with include

Bedworx - professional gardening serves
Bedworx - fine gardening and design
Bedworx - Elite gardening services
Bedworx - full service gardening
Bedworx - passionate gardeners

Something just isn't clicking. I would love some suggestions!

How about: "Custom Planning and Landscaping For The Discerning Garden Lover"

I also suggest you consider reusing some of the images form your Instagram stream. Your main website may benefit from color, AND from a clear but short statement outlining what you do and who you do it for.

To learn from the past (what you have tried that 'didn't click') and apply that toward future naming / branding:

"- specializing in flower beds" - might have been too narrow (no landscaping/design)

"- we maintain your curb appeal" - might have been too nebulous (i.e., it could have been perceived as including exterior home maintenance)

    Some new thoughts:
    "Exclusive gardening design and maintenance"

    "Horticulture specialists"

    "Select landscape design and gardening"

    "Gardening experts"

    ""Beautiful landscapes"

    "Custom landscaping and gardening services"

    "Landscapes design and garden specialists"

    Best,
    Steve

From what I hear, you want to be able to seperate yourselves from every "Jo Schmo" who cuts lawns and trims the odd tree.

For this, you need to ensure you're getting across the quality of your work, and the experience of you and your workers. You are master craftsmen (people) so this is what you need to capitalise on.

That does go beyond just a tagline (as I'm sure you're aware), but some suggestions would be:

Bedworx - Experts in landscape design and maintenance
Bedworx - Creating and maintaining masterpieces from the ground up
    Bedworx - Master landscapers
Bedworx - Passionate about plants (this would need more explanation in body copy)
Bedworx - Crafting your outer spaces

if you want to reply with some direction on whether you like any of these, I can refine it more.
