We Are A Non Profit Museum And Community Center

Posted by 2leeann58 on 250 Points
We are a small town of less that 200. Our town is at risk of complete demise. A group of us have started a community center and historical museum in one of the last remaining salvageable buildings. We rely solely on donations to maintain expenses. Our goal is to purchase a mini split heat pump to heat the entire building at a more affordable rate. A fundraiser is being planned to help raise money for the purchase and installation of the heat pump. We will have a silent auction, entertainment, dinner and wine. Any suggestions for a good title for our fundraiser would be greatly appreciated. The success of this fundraiser will be the foundation for future endeavors aimed at salvaging our small town. Thank you, WHMCC

With such a small town, the title doesn't need to be clever. Why not: "Heating The Building" (if the building has a name, use that instead)?

Who is the target audience? If it's just the folks in town, Jay is right: You don't need a great title. There can't be more than 75-100 households. How are they going to find out about the fundraiser? You could call or visit each household and make a direct pitch.

Separate question: Why such an elaborate fundraising event for a relatively small number of participants?

Where are you and what doesWHMCC stand for? What's the name of your town and organization?

I'm assuming you are Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center in Waterford, NY. If so, perhaps something like "Warming in Waterford" would work for you. Or:

    Warmth for Waterford's Cultural Center
    Cultural Center Comfort

Thank you everyone for the comments.
Our town is Washtucna Washington. WHMCC stands for Washtucna Historical Museum and Community Center. We have several small communities within 30 miles of us. Collectively the population would be closer to 1000 people. We are hoping to get a good response to our fundraiser because we feel this could be the foundation to resurrecting and salvaging of our community. We are near a state park, Palouse Falls and have a lot of historical features to draw upon. We hope to develop our area and create a place others would like to join our community. Small town America is dying and we want to reverse that trend. Check out LaCrosse Wa, another small town 25 miles from Washtucna.... https://www.lacrossecommunitypride.com/ We are hoping to follow in their footsteps.
We are putting together a webpage but for now you can check us out on FB https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=washtucna%20historical%20museum (washtucna historical museum) and, https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=washtucna%20community%20center (community center) and, https://www.facebook.com/groups/821470937910826/ Washtucna Wa Our Town

Thank you everyone for your input, Lee Ann
