The Marketing Director has a key leadership role as a member of the Retail Management Team. The role directs all marketing/product management related tasks on a global basis within Retail's define markets and supports new market development efforts. The role owns the MEI value proposition, along with all marketing campaigns to defend and grow this proposition in the market. The role is co-responsible with the Retail Eexecutive Vice President for development and implementation of the 3-year strategy. It also leads efforts in the areas of marketing strategy, product portfolio management, brand management, marketing communications, pricing and growth initiatives. The position has responsibility for managing and developing one or more direct reports performing marketing related tasks and supporting the areas detailed above.

Roles & Responsibilities

Channel strategy (supports EVP)
3 year business plan co-development and maintenance
Geographic strategic direction and expansion
Service strategy development
Define market entrance strategy
Drive customer-led strategies
Brand Management
Multi-brand strategy ownership including development and articulation of brand objective and value proposition
Sales support – e.g., value proposition presentation
Team and People Management
Provide direct management to all marketing associates within the channel
Produce development plans and manage succession
Create and maintain clear objectives and priorities for each associate
Manage workflow for the team and amongst team members
Ensure associates have tools necessary to perform their roles
Recruit, orient and train new associates as required
Market Intelligence
Lead market intelligence process including identification and communication of market trends and dynamics
Ensure awareness of competitors through analysis of strategies, products and current events
Market focused technology awareness and trends
Define strategic and operational plans to address identified threats and opportunities
Ensure customer centric approach is implemented and feedback is collected
Marketing Liaison
Ensure Channel driven marketing objectives are aligned with and supported by strategic marketing
Manage any trade-offs among opportunities within the Channels and with strategic marketing
Ensure availability of strategic central marketing resources as required to achieve Channel objectives

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance with strong Marketing orientation. MBA or equivalent post grad professional qualification e.g Marketing Diploma preferred
Minimum of 10 years of sales or marketing experience required; minimum 5 year’s experience managing/leading others; prior P&L responsibility preferred
