Need A Tagline/name For A Set Of It Services
Posted By: hitchman* on 12/14/2004 3:39 PM (CST) 250 Points
We are a communications equipment manufacturer who is launching a set of 30-40 services solutions targetted at helping customers design, support, maintain and manage their network infrastructure throughout the entire product lifecycle. What we need help with is a catchy, serious tagline for these services and a a great name for the overall services offers - something like servicecare (yuck) help please ...

You can tell that you are in the early stages of nameing when all of then names are three syllables and are the combinations of two words. And there are hyphens and puns. Please forgive me if some of mine fit that mold. :-)

OMNIBUS - Comprehensive Network Management Solutions
OBIWAN -- Knobi? plays on the WAN (WAN you WANt the Best)
Cycle Series -- From Daylight to Sunset (Sunrise Software)
Fulfillment (or synonyms) -- Promises are not enough

And my off the wall personal favorite
Orgasm -- Everybody likes it and no one can get too much of it.

Names like...

Ringmaster Networks
Network Maestro
Network Therapy
Network Boss
Mission Control Networking

With a tagline like...

Who's conducting your infrastructure?
What's steering your infrastructure?

Although I admit that Orgasm Networks is a name people aren't likely to forget. ;]

Am I writing Orgasm?

I meant Organism!

We put the ORG in ORGanism

You get the life cycle component and the network component and the organization component.

Okay. I'm just taking another shot at it.

Forgot to add:

My golden rule is to expand your own brand as much as possible.

As you are looking at helping you customers Design, Build, Manage and Support (or something like that). Can you not strengthen your own business brand, but using your company name (or part thereof) ?

For Example:

If you are called Sure Telecom (of something) use the following names:

Sure Design
Sure Build
Sure Manage
Sure Support

This ehances your own brand, which I presume must be good if you are launching 30+ additional services.

Good Luck

ps. if you need any professional assisiatnce then click on my name and get in touch :-)

I'll tell you what not to do.

Don't use - the word SOLUTIONS - Perhaps the most over used, most boring non descriptive, wanky word - ever.

And another problem is I still have no idea what your do. I re-read your question and dropped off to sleep several times and had to start again.

I'm just joking but it sounds like you do the same as everyone else.

What is Unique about your company? (Please)

I agree completely with Michelle. Wanky, sleep-inducing words are to be avoided at all costs!

Someday I'd love to see an IT company take the technobluffery out of the mix. Just say, "We keep your computer stuff humming."

Hi Hitchman

Why should customers use your services and not your competitors? What differentiates you from competition that customers will value?

Where do you want to be positioned within your market?

What are some of your competitor names and taglines?

How is your corporate brand percieved? What sort of company, culture and brand are you? can you include your corporate brand name in your new service brands as a prefix?

Here are some hip shooters...

BULLFREE NETWORKS - Taking The **** Out of Networks

INVISIBLE NETWORKS - So Good, You'll Never Notice We're There

THE RELAXED NETWORK COMPANY - Joe, Pass the Pizza?

PLANT (Product Lifecycle And Network Technology)- Networks' Greenest Fingers

AOK NETWORKS - Were We Down?

Hope this helps to stir it up a little!
