Posted By: nur500* on 1/24/2005 11:50 AM (CST) 250 Points
I am in a rut finding a good name for my care package business. These are names I have so far:

Giddy Giftbox
CareCrazy Gifts
Comfort Gifts
Package Penguin
Gifts to GoGo
Comfort Cheer

Can you tell us a bit more about what goes in the boxes, and why?

The care boxes are for military soldiers, college students and are filled with goodies like cookies, candy etc..

I'll have to think on it a while. Get back later.

The company name is going to set the tone for the branding and marketing and everything else that you do. So you really want to spend a little time and get this right.

Are you marketing this as two separate companies (one to soldiers, one to college students) or one company with two different audiences?

If you're marketing to them separately (in which case I'd suggest using different names for the different pieces of the business), how about something like:

Military Munchies
Graduate Goodies

If you're marketing them together (a more difficult proposition, because you need a more generic (read: boring) name), how about:

Goodies To Go (or)
Love in a Box

One thing I tell my Expertizing.com clients: Don't name the company too narrowly (because you might grow it broader at some point); don't name it too 'cutely' (because the product line may shift at some point) and if possible, split out the separate audiences/markets as branded products/companies themselves (in case you later want to sell off one, but not all, of the pieces.)

/Fern

Why not go with something a bit obvious?

"The Care Package Company"
"Acme Care Packages"
"The Care Package Factory"

Less obvious:

"Sweet Tidings"
"Heartwarmer Boxes"

(I like the obvious ones best.)

Trying to think of your core value or benefit, I like the "Comfort" ideas, as thats what your providing, comfort to the military and students!
Comfort is also an emotional word, so works well.

Alex, you are right but anything that has comfort in it doesn't sound catchy enough

Comfort Cheer
Comfort Gifts
Comfort Carton
Comfort Package
Tiny Comfort

I am at this point where I am so afraid to just 'Settling ' to a name. My mind is getting so tired with playing with names constantly. I seriously need help.
