Help Pick A Name With Me...

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm opening up a store in a artsy, resale, collectibles area near our lake, downtown, trolley, lighthouse. Across the street is a business called, 'Down The Rabbit Hole.' Love the name and meaning behind it.

I want a catchy name also with good a unique meaning.

The store will be mostly consignment trinkets, treasures, antiques, retro, 'stuff', used book section, some shabby chic, used furniture, and new trendy things and artsy homemade cards, tourist postcards, gifts. It will be fun to blend it all. as well as selling local photographers work placed through out on the walls as well as a small gallery in the back.

I thought of 'hidden treasures', rambling rose... but nothing quite fits.

Any suggestions for a really great name?

Thanks for any input with this problem..

(building has hardwood floors, high ceilings, nice display window, cloth awning. I can paint whatever I want.

Who is your primary target audience? Is it locals? Summer residents? Older/younger? Male/female? Gifts or furnishings for own home?

Also, if we know the name of the town, lake or other local landmarks, maybe we can somehow incorporate that into the name. The local appeal could be good.

How about Second Hand Rose? You have sufficient frontage with windows so people will get an idea of your line of business. You'll need a tag (to agree with Phil) to sell it online or in the phone book.

    Good Luck!

So sorry I did not get back to this. I could not find this website again until I received a message saying my question was closed.

Thank you all for your responses, I will give them all a lot of thought. I did think about making sure I can also get a domain name to correspond.

The lake? Lake Michigan, city, Kenosha.

Second Hand Rose was actually one I had in mind years ago but another person actually had a store with the name and it closed about a year ago. I want something that will not be reminders of a store that didn't work. Good name though.

Anyways, a bit of sad news. I looked forever for the 'right' store and thought I found it. I asked for 2 days to think through and get those that was going to help put it together to come through it for ideas. The landlord said that should be no problem. I called 2 days later and she rented it to someone else without even calling me. :( Well I learned a lesson there.

Anyways, now the search is back on for another location.

Again, thanks for all your help.

    :)
