Fundraising Event - Need New Name

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
The organization funds breakfast programs in local shools, and helps kids (whose parents cannot afford it) pay to play in organized sports.

Funding is difficult to come by. The Board has approved a large-scale event for this summer. We'll bring in top name entertainment for a concert, and have a two day golf tournament to compliment the weekend.

THe Board named this event 'Playing for Change', which fit both the concert, and the golf game, but -

Playing for Change is a recognized foundation and movement.

We need a new name...help!

Where are you located? Perhaps the name of the event can play off the location, a local landmark, or a native son (or daughter) who has achieved fame or is recognized locally as a hero/heroine, etc.

Great suggestion! We're in Sudbury, ON (Nickel capital of the world), although 'Nickel' is in a lot of taglines.

It might help if you could point us to your website so we could see a fuller description of what your group does.

Are you the Human League -- and is your website www.humanleague.on.ca ?

It's tough to name an event so that encompasses both your support for the breakfast club and your support for sports for kids who need financial help.

And it's even tougher to name an event so it covers both the concert fundraiser and the golf tournament fundraiser.

Would you consider a name for just the golf tournament and its role in supporting the The Breakfast Club:

BRING YOUR CLUB FOR OUR CLUB:
    The Human League's Golf Tournament
to support The Breakfast Club for Kids

And would you consider a separate name for the concert:

    BREAKFAST ON A HIGH NOTE:
    The Human League's Summer Concert
to support The Breakfast Club for Kids

I know these names don't describe your support for organized sports for kids who can't afford to pay, and I wish I could figure out a way to encompass it all.

"Playing for Change" really is good -- all encompassing. Would the word "Score" be that kind of term?

    KEEPING SCORE FOR KIDS:
A golf tourney and summer concert to support
The Breakfast Club for Sudbury children

We've just confirmed that our 'concert' portion will feature 3 top Country artists. So far, excellent ideas (thank you so much). And yes, we are the Human League in Sudbury (web address is correct!)
