Need A Name For A Pilates/yoga/massage, Ect Studio

Posted by kim_butters59 on 250 Points
I have been teaching Pilates at the University of the South campus for 9 years. I teach mat classes and appartus and my clientel range from university students to my oldest at 91. I use not only Pilates but stretching, fascial release and recondition and heated modalities in my work. I try to educate my clients to understand how the body works holistically so they can apply what they learn in the studio to their daily lives. I have outgrown my time and space allotment at the school gym and am working on building a studio on campus that would also allow for Yoga, Tai Chi, and massage practioners to rent space from me. I ran a name contest with my clients and the most popular so far has been "Bring Your Own Body - Pilates and More." Some people however, have objected to the BYOB acronym being alcohol associated and using it on a college campus in the bible belt. I wondered what other ideas you might have. Thank you for your time.

Are you wanting a name that strengthens the connection with the University (i.e., using the university's mascot or nickname in your name - if legally permitted), or a name that specifies your town (i.e., using the town's name or nickname), or a name that's unconnected geographically? Are you looking for a name that's focused on (generic) physical fitness healing, or a name that's more connected with a specific modality (Pilates)? Finally, what's special about your Pilates classes that others' don't provide in your area?

There's always going to be "some people", it's up to you to gauge their number. If nothing else works, you could try this (though it may stir some too-intense contradictory thoughts):

"Bring Your Own Bible - Pilates and More."

I believe that the thing that sets my teaching apart from others is that I educate them about how their body works, what causes disfunction and what they can do on their own to transform or heal their bodies in addition to what I can do with them in the studio. They remain loyal patrons because I continually try to further my education so that there is always more for them to learn. So a catchy name that played on the intellect side of the University would be great.

I do other discliplines than Pilates and hope to have instructors in other fields in this new studio so something that implies a wide range of bodywork services would also be helpful.

I liked the Bring Your Own Body because to me it implied that whether you are tall, short, skiny, fat, old or young, crooked or straight, this studio will have something to benefit you. I do realize that you can never please everyone and that peoples associations and perceptions are different. But I would like to see if someone can come up with something conveying that same concept without the negative connotations.
