Senior Citizens Program Name/tagline

Posted by jsilverman on 250 Points
We're trying to change the image of a small non-residential program from stodgy to interesting and exciting. Our program provides socializing, health and wellness programming and transportation for shopping, doctor visits, and holiday meals, among other programs. Tagline has long been "Helping seniors to age in place gracefully." We want to junk that tag line, and have a marketable program name and tag line. We are trying to stay away from the words "senior," "elder," and other similar descriptions. I know you folks can help us. Thanks.

    So if I am a senior, what BENEFIT can I expect when I call you (or ask one of my children to call on my behalf)? What itch of mine will you scratch? How will I feel after I have you on the case? How will my life be better?

    You have described FEATURES of your service, but there is no mention of that ultimate BENEFIT.

    You probably need an experienced outside consultant to work with you on a project like this. But you can start by providing some basic information:

    * What is the name of your organization? (Mechanicville Area CSC?)

    * Who exactly is your target audience? (Seniors? Seniors' children? Healthcare professionals? Social workers? Clergy? Other?)

    * Where? (Mechanicville NY?)

    * How do they find you?

    * What services seem to be the entry point for most of them?

    * How do they decide among alternatives for care/assistance?

    You may want to consider some formal market research to get at the real issues. A well-planned and executed study will go a long way toward crafting a tagline that will re-position your organization among this audience. It's a lot more than brainstorming some words.

    A few ideas...

    - Airing Out Old Farts (only if they have a good sense of humor! haha)

    - Mature Friends Club: shopping, exercising, and socializing

    - Shopping, Excitement, and eXercising!

    - Getting up and about; let's move it move it!

    - Helping you be healthy, happy, and meet the needs of everyday life.
