Want To Buy A Erp Product Company In India

My company wants to develop an ERP product for SMEs. We want to save time in preapring the functional spec from scratch. In view of this, we want to contact companies with an ERP product in older platform who are ready to sell the product. We want to redevelop it in Linux and J2EE platform with additional features using the core modules, functioal spec of that product.

    If it were me, in addition to approaching commercial software companies, I would approach end-user companies who have developed their own internal system. I'd offer to take over maintenance and enhancement of their system and provide them some royalties, in exchance for the Intellectual Property. If you are lucky, you could open a dialog with several interested companies, and learn a bit from each about functional requirements.
