Marketing Spend By Industry Or As A Percentage Of Revenue

Posted by Anonymous on 200 Points
Can anyone assist me in finding industry standards on companies marketing spend? E.g. Does business-to-business companies in telecommunications spend 3% of revenue on marketing?

Also, are there standard marketing formulas available to assist in a marketing budget? What is taken into account...business size, competition, etc.

Thanks in advance

This question has been frequently asked here and as a result there are many great responses already available in the archive.

If you go to the top right of this page to "Search Questions", then enter "Marketing Budget" under Search Term and click search, you will be given the list - very helpful.

    I hope that helps!

    Regarding the search features:
Yes, there is a search BOX in the page header that retrieves MarketingProfs articles and FAQs, and there is a Search Questions LINK in the upper right margin that allows you to retrieve questions and answers posted on the Know-How Exchange. (The site's owners are reviewing some usability design ideas as we speak.)
