Looking For On-line Keyword Searches By Market

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hello All,
I own a website design and hosting business. I sell simple template websites to small businesses. I am seeking on-line markinging information to help me in sales.

I want to find out, for example, how many searches for fence contractors (or like keywords) in a specific metro market. I have a lot of potential businesses who do not have websites and I want to be able to show them how many people in their market are looking for information in their field. I can of course search national numbers, but not in a local market.

Searching with search engines for this information is very difficult. I would appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Aron

Google Trends gives you the ability to define the geographic area from Wordwide down to a local market

Yes I understand that, but Google does not share the information. I want to be able to submit "Painting Contractors" and "Buffalo NY" and find out how many daily searches for related keywords - simple. I can get national numbers, but my clients want to know how many searches there are online in their local market.

This is somewhat helpful, but still not what I am looking for. I wouldn't have to have a daily number, it could be over any period of time - even a trend. The point is, I want to be able show value in having a website to my customers in their local market. Using Google only shows me Google numbers, but it is a start. I want to be able to show a potential business how important it is to have a website. Is there any place to get a report by industry (plumbing, landscaper, roofing contractor, etc) about how and why people research online?

Thank you for the advice. I like this, but I guess it is not exactly the answer I was looking for - lol.
