Marketing Tool For Ranking Of Variables

can anybody just help me out in knowing what would the best tool to analyse the variables, when they are ranked.
For example: brand, availability, price and quality of a product are ranked by customers. what would be the correct tool or technique to analyse.

    There are a number of approaches you can take, depending upon your goal. You can have each variable rated in terms of both importance to the customer and how well it performs and then conduct a gap analysis to look at disecrepencies in ratings between the two scales. You can also have the respondent rank them in terms of importance and study the percentage who ranks each attribute either first or first and second in terms of importance.

    I also suggest you have a number of variables within each of these attributes, so that each can variable address concerns about each attribute with a maximum degree of specificity.
