I selected PayPal back when they were the only company that could satisfy all the criteria I had and not cost what looked like a lot of money (then). I'm surprised myself that they continue to be a great option for me.

People don't need to know that the company handling the payments is PayPal until they've clicked on the "checkout" feature, and many of them actually prefer to use their own PayPal accounts anyway. I don't think it has hurt business at all ... even though I know it has a bit of a negative image among the purists.

I think that as long as you position PayPal as being "for your convenience and security" there's no reason to spend more.

Of course, you have to define your own selection criteria. What's best for me may not be best for you. And there's nothing that says you can't change your mind if your needs change down the road, or if other options enter the picture and look more attractive to you.

    Dear Byron,

You'd do well to look at E-junkie: www.e-junkie.com/?r=69453

E-junkie provides online retailers with shopping carts and "buy now" buttons that let you sell both downloadable and tangible (shipped) goods on your website.

They also offer all kinds of download tools and applications that make online shopping easier for your customers, and more profitable for you. All of which makes www.e-junkie.com/?r=69453 a logical choice.

E-Junkie's service also allows you to take payments via eBay, MySpace, Google Base, CraigsList and other all kinds of other websites using two options in PayPal (PayPal Standard and PayPal Pro).

They also give you the option to accept payments via Google Checkout, Authorize.Net, TrialPay, ClickBank and 2CheckOut.

Using www.e-junkie.com/?r=69453 , you can begin selling up to
10 products for only $5 per month.

As you increase the number of products you offer, the monthly
fee also increases. But you can sell up to 60 products, which is a pretty wide range, for only $18 a month.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

One thing to consider is the programming necessary on your web site to use whoever you go with. There are some great services out there that can send almost individualized, automated messages when people complete an order thanking your customers for their business, make special offers based on what someone just bought. They require a great deal of back-end work to make them compatible with a web site, which is why I chose to go with PayPal. It's easy, reliable and familiar to most people.

If you are interested in more, the one that was strongly recommend to me was https://www.autowebbusiness.com/

    Good luck!

You need to becarefull with it before you decide. Some countries might not have paypal, western union, etc.

So you need to do some research before you decide and plan for the next step.
