Marketing Analytics And Data Mining

Posted by bill.hall on 250 Points
As far as data mining tools, do you know which you have had better experience with? I am currently looking at Acxiom, SPSS, and SRDS so far. Ideas? We are a property/casualty company and are looking to use analytics to look more at our customers to find channel/distribution/and media opportunities to drive the marketing strategy. Thanks! Bill

I am in the Research Area, and we currently starting to use PAI. We came up to this one, after having a consultancy with Tim Macer from UK. He helped us select the best tool for our needs.

It has been very useful for analysis:

What is with all the acronyms?
  • Posted by bill.hall on Author
    Levon,
SRDS is Standard Rate and Data Service (the people who put out the data cards), Axciom is their name, and SPSS is an IBM company - it probably stands for something but that is how they brand themselves - SPSS

Bill - I missed this one when it was live due to project overload, but as Randall flagged it up, I thought that I'd give you an out of date response.

Our approach to data-mining is very much needs and pain driven, then process and procedure and only then specific system A over system B

Please feel free to give me a call or drop me an email if you want to scope things or look in more detail.
