Can anyone tell me where to find basic industry statistics on what large tech manufacturers (SW, HW) spend on retail marketing and sales programs annually? (internationally would be nice but I'll take US)

    If/when you get what you're looking for, be careful how you use it. "Industry statistics" are usually averages that include information about companies with very different objectives and strategies, and may not be reflective of ANY company.

    It's like saying that the average temperature in the world today is 58.7 degrees (F). Depending on where you are in the world, it doesn't tell you if you need an overcoat or shorts when you get dressed to go outside.
