Reverse E-mail:, Solving: Name + Company = E-mail

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Have company name and person´s name, want the E-mail address (without international phone calls to secretaries, not all of whom speak English).

Let´s call the person we are looking for "John Smith." I think you used to do it by entering at Google johnsmith@domain name, or smith@*domainname* and his company e-mail address popped up. However this no longer works; perhaps my memory is wrong.

Is search engine is better for this? How? I realize there is "e-mail grabber" software out there, but a $1,000+ annual licensing fee is a little pricey for my sometime searches.

    Here's the query:

    +email +"@domain.com"

that will show you enough email addresses for you to learn the naming convention for the company. Then apply your contact to that convention.

The domain name is not always the same as the company's domain name. Try looking in their press releases which often give the name of the PR person and the correct email domain.

As an experiment tried out Markitet´s suggestion on Bain & Co, the consultancy, and 20th Century Fox, as I knew they both use the same convention, e.g john.smith@domain name. Interesting: worked like a charm for Bain, but not for 20th Century Fox. There are very few 100% solutions in the Internet world, so I am delighted with the suggestion.

Michael´s tip is also good; at last, a credible contribution from the PR department!

Thanks to both of you. JH
