Html Code For Member Badge - Why/why Not?

I just received an email from MarketingProfs with HTML code for a member badge that I can put on my website. What are the benefits of giving a member badge via HTML code rather than giving people the actual jpeg images? Just curious because we distribute badges/logos to our members as well. Is there any track-able benefits?

    The HTML code is better for how it displays in your website. You can track if you add a link into the code back to marketing profs...for example. Ensure that Google Analytics HTML code is placed on the pages you want to track.
