How To Find A Contract Manufacturer Of Sauce In Uk

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We have a small business making and selling sauces in south london. The business is growing, and our time would now be better spent advertising and marketing the products. We are therefore looking for contract manufacturing companies to produce the sauce, as demand is growing out of our control. We would also like to start approaching bigger stores. Im not sure were to even start with this research, so if anyone has any useful advise it would be much appreciated.

    Here's a list: https://www.manta.com/world/Europe/United+Kingdom/-/London/food--C2/

However, note that you might need to go outside London.
A possible option is https://www.hugli.co.uk/. They're based in Redditch.

To approach larger stores, first make sure that you can create the product in the quantities that TESCO or Sainsbury's might order them in. For this you'll need capital to support your manufacturing.

Also bear in mind that getting into a large store is one
thing, STAYING in them is another. Certain large UK-based supermarkets have less than stellar reputations for the ways they treat their smaller vendors: so here, seller beware.

You may be better off retaining exclusive outlet deals with smaller, specialist stores. Bigger is not always better.
