I am working in the Product Management department of India’s top Herbal veterinary pharmaceutical company
Tell us about your company.
Our company is involved in manufacturing and marketing of Herbal veterinary pharmaceutical products besides we also make quality Herbal extracts and give reference standards world wide for Phytochemical marker compounds.
How did you find KHE?
I learnt about it through a friend.

My community name is Sham and I selected it simply because it is part of my first name

How many years have you been in marketing? How did you get started?
I have been in marketing for the last decade. I began as a Medical representative in a pharmaceutical company. I came to marketing rather by compulsion. I have a M.S. in Marine Biology, but in 1995 just as I completed my M.S, the government banned commercial scale prawn farming. I was jobless and found a job in sales to start with and later shifted to Marketing.
Did you study marketing in college or have you learned on the job?
I did not study marketing in college; rather I learnt it on the job.
Do you have (or have you had) a mentor?
Though I don’t have any particular mentor, lot of people specially my seniors in my company where I have worked and workshops and books have helped me to gain more professional knowledge.
What is the value KHE provides to you personally?
It is a wonderful forum. You can learn lot of things just by browsing through the questions asked by others and for your specific problems you have lot of professional help from across the world. It’s simply great.
Have you made any offline connections with people you met in KHE?
Not really. A couple of people have sent me emails asking for help recently but because of work pressure I have yet to reply them
Do you have any advice for new members of KHE?
It is a very professional forum, please ask relevant questions and not rubbish or homework questions. Use it as a source of knowledge than a source of entertainment
