Marketing My Item For Convenient Stores

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I would like to sell my peanut patties at convenient store counters. I have all the packaging and labels. How should I approach these places? I've thought about taking some to a few stores and asking them to place them on their counter, see if they sell. If they do, would the store just make a deal with me that they would purchase a certain amount from me each week. I don't know how to approach these places or what to say.

Little of your exact question but this is the first thing that came to my mind:

I'm not sure how it works where you are, but is cooking up these peanut patties and simply selling them legal in your area?

You probably already checked this but, shouldn't they have to be inspected, barcoded, nutrition info etc. when it comes to food. Makes me nervous if anyone can cook up something without safeguards/health inspections in place and sell to the public. What if the guy is a madman who is making the product?

If you haven't, it may be an idea to check on the above prior to chatting them up...can be a real 'deal breaker' otherwise.
