Networkmarketing, To Be Or Not To Be?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
What is the future for networkmarketing or referral marketing. Why are there mlm companies who grow every year with more than 50 percent and makes a good profit? How come that "normal" companies spend so much money on marketing and makes less money or losses. Is there something that needs to be done to the prejudge of mlm companies?

I'd like to address your fourth question, regarding predudice against MLM companies.

As a professional cold caller, I have been approached by many MLM fanatics. I continue to belive that MLM is a way for a very dilligent person of average ability to supplement their income. But the tactics which have been implemented and taught by those I've had contact with have been shameful. They lied, and when they were not lying outright, they were providing deceptive information. They would not take "no" for an answer. They refused to provide information up front. They were true fanatics - they would not change their mind, and they would not change the subject.

Possibly your experience has been different. It's a big world - there certainly must be ethical, honest, and trustworthly MLM companies and agents, who sell products which are a good value. I just personally have not met any.

Those MLM organizations which teach irresponsible marketing methods have created a backlash against their own industry. And so it becomes a problem of "guilt by association". I stay as far from that industry as I can.

Let me hasten to add that I have never been personally approached by Mary Kay Cosmetics or that Lonnemaker Basket company. I believe there are some good companies out there.

But there are also a lot of bad apples, and poorly trained salespeople, and I believe they are causing the predjudice you are referring to.

    BRANDING!!!!!

Just look at waht telemoxie described. This is the perception evryone I know (inclucing myself) has of MLM. They are fanatic, try to pump you up with BS, and WILL NOT show you the product until they have your money.

Do they make a killing in a short amount of time? Sure! Do they last very long -NO...very few have survived...most are cosmetics or cookware (can you see the relationship?).

So, any company that wants to build a solid foundation and plans on being around for awhile understands it takes time to "grow a tree". Take a look a DaivdatHaley's website and read his article on "Black Bamboo".

    I hope this helps!
