Seeking Web Sales Advice Re Ebay Auctions Test

Posted by Corpcommer on 125 Points
For the first time I put stuff up for auction on eBay, but so far only 1 book has a bid. I'm offering 3 items -- nonfiction reading materials. As advised, I put low starting prices on each.

If an expert in online sales is reading this, may I get your thoughts on how to improve my postings to generate more notice and interest.

I'm testing eBay with low cost stuff before trying to sell higher priced miscellaneous items. I believe I put key words in the title and description areas of ads.

Thanks in advance for your replies, folks.

Thanks for your thoughts. While all are actually in very good condition, E-Bay recommended starting a low price, so I set it like similar types on e-Bay. I understand your point & do appreciate your time.

    Thanks, again.

    Anyone else?

Books do not typically sell very well on eBay. Try an Amazon.com listing if you really want to sell books.

If you're just using books as a kind of pilot test, you've picked the wrong items for this purpose. Whatever you learn about books on eBay will not be relevant to most other products/categories.

Test what you plan to expand, and expand what you've tested. Don't assume that what you learn with one product will necessarily translate to another.

mgoodman - Had no idea that books do not typically sell very well on eBay. I'll keep in mind for future.

Thanks for your advice, which I appreciate it.
