Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Dear friends,
I run a software dev firm. My clients are Jewellery showroom owners. They have asked me for RFID based inventory solution. Any experience with RFID , jewellery stores ? i know ddamas(big jewellery player) has done such thing at tjs.uae ( a store in dubai).
If you can provide any thing related to india regarding rfid , that would be great.
regards
Sunny

Wipro Technologies was one of the first Indian Tech companies to install their own test bed in their own campus store in Bangalore. Target and Wal-Mart are amongst their customers demanding a solution. If they have a working model, you should be able to get information local to your market from: https://www.wipro.com/aboutus/whoweare.htm

    Hope that helps

I used RFID in my drycleaning plant. This was back in the day when chips were over 2.50 each. I was just testing certain chips for my software dev.

Anyhow, great concept. I can see how it would play well in retail. Adding a chip to each article makes inventory a snap, and would also double as a theft deterent device.

It may not be as good in jewlery as in clothing, as the chips could be removed from an item. Be sure to have super cautious policies in place, such as you do not pull another ring back from the display case until the other is returned, etc, etc.

At end of day though, it would be very easy to do a check on inventory...walk the store with your wand and the software can generate a complete inventory report and verify it. Cool!

If you are in the states you should contact InLogic www.inlogic.com. They are into RFID and have an assett management software.

    Scott Porter is the contact.
