Would You Pay Expenses For A Contractor To Travel?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
If you hired a consultant (a freelancing individual) to fly across country to work in your office for a few days, for which of their costs / expenses would you expect to pay?

Would you pay a per diem based on 8 hours X their hourly rate?

Would you pay their travel expenses?

Anything else you would or would not pay?

I'd like to know what the community has experienced or would consider is the commonly accepted practice?

Thanks, all!

Yes you should pay expenses and per diem. That is unless the person is inexperienced or deperate enough to do the project without it. The norm is to pay, but that can be part of your negotation.

If you do pay you will attract a better level of contractor.
