    It's one way to contact a prospect, by (generally cold-)calling them. It's one tool for businesses to market them selves. The Wiki describes the rules. Whether the tool is useful for any business is a function of who the business is targeting, the message, and the skill of the telemarketer.

    Hey -- just a note -- when you use all CAPS in your answer -- it is equivalent to shouting, and is considered poor etiquette, and when repeated comes across really rude.

    All that aside, though, I believe you are really asking a question that would take much more than a simple thread reply. I believe you need to contact a professional personally regarding your issue and provide more information about what you have in mind for your services. Telemarking would only be a piece of a broader issue -- it's like asking -- HOW BLUE IS THE SKY? (eh?)

    Also -- these days, you have to be very careful in your approach when it comes to telemarking bank services. With the phishing and phone scams that are rampant these days, the trust level for people responding to bank related calls is low in the US if that is where your audience is.
