Marketing To The Educational Sector

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My current market had been professional video editing sector for video production. However, since last year, we see a trend of teachers coming to our class, as they incorporate video media into their classes. k12, secondary schools and international schools as well.

We want to expand that market by creating educational seminars, marketing our training aids to the schools. But I don't know where to start. Any advise appreciated.

The best place to start is with education associations. There are associations of specific subjects e.g., National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. There are the Associations of Teachers in local geographies. There are Associations of principals, of Superintendents, of School Board Members, Teachers of the Gifted, Special Ed Teachers, etc. Every one of those could be interested in a speaker on your subject at their meetings or some training at meetings.

I used to be a member of some of them; I am a speaker and workshop leader who sometimes speaks at these organizations.

I'm not sure how you get information about us when we answer your questions but if I can be of further help please let me know.

If you don't get a way to reach me through MarketingProfs, go to www.brainstorming-that-works.com or one of my other web sites and send a message through one of the 'contact me' sections.

The main sessions for national programs are usually set about a year in advance. The smaller, more specialized or local ones may not need that much notice.

The teachers and others will come back to their school districts with recommendations for purchases if they get excited about a product they see.

    Hello,

The associations also rent their lists as well.

There are also some good compiled lists on the market that you can test the reaching the teachers in your local area.

    Good luck

Talk to the teachers that are coming to the seminars. Ask them for people to talk with in their school, district, or local organizations. And don't forget to get testimonials from the teachers for your marketing...

Does your company have a website? If so, I would consider holding a series of webinars. My company produces them for our products (sometimes advertiser sponsored) and we have success with them.
