How To Collaborate With Doctor For New Pdt Launch

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
My company is launching a new health supplement which completes every women's need for health and beauty. We intended to collaborate with a doctor to give seminars and talks which was believed to be more effective. However, due to budget constraint, we really don't know how to go about it? To commit the doctor with a minimum cost.

How about a percentage of sales?

doctors do presentations for drug companies all the time. An old beau (a doc) did this and he didn't come cheap-- he didn't endorse the product, but present-- and a luncheon (one hour) would be $1K to him. He did not endorse the product and the drug company was very strict on the message he had to read-- he wasn't allowed to ad lib much.

Start talking-- I'd go into a doc office who might be a candidate and start a relationship with him/her. I'd also talk to a few drug reps. They already know the system, all the docs and who might be interested.

Do you have any docs you currently sell to? Those are also candidates. If not, get them sampled -- they will be more likely to work with you if they believe in the product.

It seems you need the doctor perhaps to lend the product some credibility. Assuming the product is really good and it's targeted to women, I would suggest getting your product in front of women in places they already go to. This eliminates you having to go through the expense of paying a doctor, booking a venue, making them aware of it and hoping you get enough people to attend.

So let's focus on places that large numbers of women are going to be anyway. Beauty salons, fitness centers, supermarkets, etc. The owners in these places are always interested in increasing traffic in their stores and that is what you would be helping them to do. Now instead of spending marketing dollars on the doctor, you can focus on promoting the fact that you will be in the stores, creating a nice table top display with samples, demonstration, giveaways etc.

If you still want the doctor, then have her/himdo a short video about the product that you could run on a continuous loop at the table and that you could also use on your web site. You want to make your in store display as classy and distinguished as possible. The goal is to get people talking. And be sure to have a sign up sheet for the women who stop by. This will enable you to build a customer database.

Hopefully if you can create a memorable impression with the product and the display, the women that stop by will become advocates for your product and spread positive word of mouth about it. Give them an incredible offer. like buy one, get one free. Something to get buzz going about the product and your brand.

    Hope this helps.

Think about what would be the advantage to the doctor, what is called WIIFM - what's in it for me.

For some Docs it is a way to get known better for their specialty and to attract new patients.

I also echo what the person before me said. Doctors do this all the time. Normally they are paid an honorarium and most insist on their own speech and no direct endorsements. Of course, just being there appears like an endorsement to the audience.

Start with doctors that already focus on this demographic: plastic surgeons. This product might be a good fit for people that aren't ready for surgery/treatments.
