Effectiveness Of Live-person Videos On Website

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Recently several clients have asked us about the effectiveness of using "live-person" videos on websites. (See https://www.mileone.com/ and https://www.hycite.com/ for examples). Do you have any experience or know of any research on this? I am interested in any quantitative or anecdotal information that I can access.

Thanks!

    Hello Susan,

When developing our website last year, we looked into integrating a flash video overlay character to help users with navigation as well as for the ‘Wow!” effect.
We did not find any unbiased data to justify the investment for an informational website like ours.

Site Pal https://www.sitepal.com , is the leader in interactive, and static talking heads for websites. See their: "Talking Character Business Benefits" https://www.sitepal.com/business (copy and paste this link) They claim that McAfee improved online sales by 10%.

Video Faces https://www.videofaces.com/faq.html , also claim around 10-20% increase in conversion rates.

I would suggest that you perform a simple A/B test; take advantage of sitepal’s 15 days free offer and split the visitors between versions of the site - one with, and one without the talking head.
