Errand Biz - Ready To Launch Biz, Have A Question

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
For anyone who has an errand service or who knows about this area of work, I am wondering:

For payment, should I give the client an option of paying up front or upon completion?
I know some companies require payment first, others will accept payment after items are purchased (usually with a business credit card, then charged 10% of the total bill).

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Well, I've seen other companies have a form that the client signs, and one of these options is checked: pay first, or pay upon completion.

I don't want someone to think I'm going to take the money and run, nor do I want someone to not pay after I've purchased items or run the errand.

I guess that's what the form is for, right, and you have to get the client's signature and they know that you hold them liable.

    Thanks for the response.

Another option is to have the customer pay 50% upfront, and the remainder when they receive the goods.

Once you have regular customers, you can always set up accounts with certain terms that best fits that business relationships.
