Brand Strategy For Fast Fashion

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
• What do we do with a style that’s selling too fast and the one that’s not selling at all and is eating shelf space?
• Should we have a ‘special corner’ where we put all slow-movers on a discount?
• Should we redistribute amongst other stores in same area?
• What information flow should be there to trigger it to upstream?
• What about styles which remain unsold after discounts?

I don't know how large your organization is, but you have to have either a liquidation corner or store that you send the non-movers to. Shelf space is the most valuable commodity you have in retail. So, get the non-movers off the shelf replace them with the movers and then worry about what to do with the inventory that's not moving. There are many things that can be done. You can use it as a giveaway for people who spend a set dollar amount in the store. YOu can use it to gain publicity by offering this product free to leff fortunate people in your area. Most importantly; for the right price there is nothing you can't liquidate. I might even reccomend creating a lot and wholesaling every bit of your bad inventory. That will free up resources to invest into items that will move.
