Posted by Anonymous on 235 Points
Hi
I need to analyse the marketing strategy used by Rice Bubbles (breakfast cereal)....especially in relation to the 4 p's, with a main focus on Price and Placement.
Also, any thoughts on recommendations for the brand to try and tackle the child obesity crisis?
Hope you can help!!!!

This question sounds like it comes direct from Australia -- Rice Bubbles (aka Kellogg's Rice Krispies).

Rice Bubbles don't make children obese -- over-consumption of calories and lack of exercise does. Sounds like this assignment of yours is trying to push one of those contemporary hot issues. Ahh the lecturer is practically setting it up for you.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I notice advertisers of cereal have always stated "part of a wholesome breakfast" -- because breakfast cereal alone doesn't cut it although many people eat it alone for b'fast.

Why is cereal in Australia cost an arm? I would use that in the pricing strategy -- it's like 6-9 dollars for a box. However, rice bubbles have always been cheaper. They get ethical points for that. Food prices have risen sharply in the world market. If Rice Bubbles can be priced cheaply they will push more product.
