Qualities Of A Global Marketing Director

Hey all, I have a question requiring a quick answer. What qualities should one look for when selecting the most appropriate candidate to handle Marketing for a Global drive. What abilities, experiences and personality traits would you expect from the most appropriate individual.

    A good International Marketing Manager will have the same traits as a Domestic Marketing Manager the only thing that changes is the environment. Marketing is the same wherever you go. It still involves the 4 P's of Marketing. Yes Politics, Language, Laws, Socio-Cultural aspects change, but much of the same can be said domestically.

    Thanks everyone, your points are very valid and much appreciated. How about his/her role from a strategic marketing point of view who is best defined for the job in such as scenario.

    Strategy is derived from experience. The more experience a Manager has in different scenarios the more strategy that manager has to draw upon. A solid educational foundation is key followed by diverse experience and knowledge of contemporary marketing techniques.
