Need Grand Opening Follow Up Ideas

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I'm about hold my grand opening for my fine clothing boutique this Friday. I would like to have some sort of fashion/extreme make over promotion to follow up the grand opening celebration. Just something to keep the excitment of the store going. Looking for ideas and suggestions?

Why don't you do something around clothing and personal branding - maybe have a local personal branding specialist help someone who is struggling to create their 'personal brand'. Extreme makeovers are only good if they fit with the personal brand of the person being made over.

You could do an enter to win promotion at the grand opening. Then depending on how many people enter you could give all of them a 25% off coupon as a "prize" and then one person would win the grand prize of a $250 gift certificate for a wardrobe makeover, or whatever denomination you feel comfortable with. That way you get people to come back to claim their 25% off prize. This also builds good will toward your store. If you don't feel comfortable with giving everyone a discount prize, remember there is always breakage, not everyone will claim their prize.

Team up with local merchants to co-market yourselves. Get a local hair salon, a shoe store (etc.) all involved. At your grand opening, sell raffle tickets to win the prize - with all monies going to a local charity. Enlist the charity to help sell tickets (although you don't have much notice to do this). It's a true win-win.
