Details Of The Uk Promotional Calendar

Posted by Jane on 50 Points
Hi guys, can anyone tell me where I can find details of the promotional calendar for the year for marketing purposes. For example, a calendar that's shows when the following (and more) are on:

National No Smoking Day
Environment Day
Breast cancer awareness week
Real nappy week
Etc

I can't seem to find a comprehensive listing anywhere yet there must be one out there somewhere!!

There is a website that lists all the known holidays. The site's actual purpose is for sending electronic postcards and is called www.1001postcards.com, but their listing of "event" dates (along the left side of the page) is quite comprehensive and might be useful for what you seek.

I know in the US the American Hospital Association provides a list of health-related observances - I am sure there is a similar organization in the UK.

    Good Luck!

    Dear Jane

The “UK Awareness” days are listed on a number of educational websites. Including:

    https://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/specialdays.htm

You will find a number of others from the academic world from the same search, including national religious days.

If you are hoping to use the dates for promoting associated events then that’s fine, but do remember that they are manufactured and in some instances have as many people who find them to be totally pointless as there are those who buy into the day.

Of course, if you are looking for dates to either avoid or schedule in for business, then you will need all the dates in the modern equivalent of “The Season”

A banker or financial marketer would be bonkers to ask high net-worth individuals to an event on 12th of August unless it was on a grouse moor. Same goes for Ascot, Wimbledon, Henley, Glyndebourne, etc, etc.

    Know your audience's priorities!
