What Is A Standard Medical Office Marketing Budget

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I have just become the marketing manager of a medium-sized medical specialist's office (specializing in pain management). I know nothing about marketing, but need to re-configure the budget.

What is a standard % of gross revenue that should be budgeted for marketing expenses? I need to know this and can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Does anyone know how to get a hold of this info at a non-profit hospital?

Thank you!
Heidi

    Heidi:

I would recommend that you first analyze the needs of the business-- what marketing efforts are currently working, what has failed, and what opportunities are on the horizon... Put together the marketing blueprint and then price it.

You may uncover a new profit center through a marketing innovation you make to the blueprint. That said, decide what needs to be done, calculate your ROI and then formulate the budget that makes the register ring.

If you are forced into a percentage then my gut is 5-7%...
