How To Get Business On Low Season?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi. I work for a day spa.
I wonder how we can always get business even if it's low season. We'd like for our spa to always have guests, especially because we're unique in the area we are located.

Seasonal promotions. Lets assume August is your slow time, offer an Promo Book one day during August and get 25% off a pre-booking for November.

    Or

Use the slow season to build marketshare by doing promotions at local venues - for instance, country club swimming pools, golf courses and boat clubs. Highlight the damages of summer weather and the need for spa treatment.

I would have a happy hour (during slow hours) - offer your services at a discount (maybe half price).

Offer something unique: bridal shower spa parties, back to school spa events, sun-damaged spa recovery packages, fusion market with local hospitality (hotel, inns, etc.) etc.

Make four times as many sales calls.

Seriously, you might need to partner with a local hotel, the community college gym or a banquet hall to get access to some mailing lists.

Here's an idea offer huge businesses and teacher's in the area half price off of your service's like for fall and winter holidays and teacher's work day. Make three days a month a special day for the teacher's and the mom's. Dad's can be once a month. or Make a full package for them for a special price that other's won't make as long as the business is
still thriving you can do alot with it.

I would offer free upgrades, such as stone massage when you book a Swedish massage, massage for two when booking one, epartnerships with hotels, buy 5 get one free, etc.

I would recommend against discounting your prices, because that will get you those only interested in low prices and will not come back when your price promotion is over.

The others have some good ideas. Off seasons are simply more competitive. You have to provide some customer benefit (a real benefit not feature) that your competitors don't. That usually means lowering the price or offering more.

The other idea would be finding a new product or a new market. Work with local hotels to attract their convention business or others who would not otherwise use your spa.

There is only 3 ways to modify your Spa treatment revenue

    1- Average spend per customer
    2- Number of customer
3- Frequency of your customer visit

1 - During your low season, your revenue is at its lowest, do not reduce your current selling price with your actual clients, it will only reduce your profit. However you could encourage them to spend more, get your second treatment at 50%,...
2 - Ask your current customer to bring a friend with a 50% discount voucher for their friend. ( increase your number of customer)
3 - Give your current client a card with stamps for every treatment, if they get 10 stamps within 2 months, they got a complimentary 3 hours Lavender massage...then they will want to come more often.
