Introducing Association Members To Personalization

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
The Pennsylvania Medical Society (www.pamedsoc.org) website was redesigned last year. We are now launching our personalization module (MyPAMEDSOC) as well as enabling RSS feeds. Does anyone have suggestions on marketing angles, particularly understanding that many of our members don't know what RSS is?

I wouls send an email to members that lets them know about a new opportunity to "subcribe" to new content on the website. This will keep them up to date with information. I would then give them a link to "subscribe" using RSS.

You may want to create an RSS tutorial on your site, letting people know what it is and how it is used.

You will really want to talk it up as be the first to know ..., keep up to date with ..., etc.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

In addition to RSS feeds, give them the option of getting an emailed (daily/weekly) digest. That will provide the information in a format that they prefer.
