Does anyone know of a source for interim staffing for Director of Marketing for a large general hospital?
Could also lead to permanent position as Director if desired.

James, you might check with the Illinois Hospital Association. In Iowa our Iowa Hospital Association has a sub group (Iowa Society of Hospital Marketing and Public Relations) for Marketing/PR staff members and they send out blasts on opportunities, etc. Good place to start.

    Good Luck!

Chris, Great advice. I would like to add that there are many qualified members of this forum who might be able to serve in a truly interim position.

I suggest posting the information via the project board.

I would recommend talking to Jerry Bernhart. He's a headhunter specializing in marketing.

Good guy and very connected to be able to help you.

I am pretty happy with posting inquiries to craigslist.org for most things, including slightly unusual requests like this.

Try your local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (prsa.org). They have a job postings section and often send out an email blast to their membership when a new position becomes available. This will give you access to marketing/PR people in your area who are experts in their field, educated, often certified and at the top of their game.

I served as the Marketing Director for a 500-bed hospital some years back, if you need anything don't hesitate to email me offline.

    Good luck!

As an accredited former board member of the Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society, WHPRMS, I highly recommend you try them as well (whprms.org). It's among the nation's most outstanding state healthcare marketing concerns.
