P&g Cpg Product Marketing Process?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
In several instances, meetings and interviews, I've been asked to describe the specific steps of the "classic" P&G marketing process. Dipping into my 8 years of marketing, I gave what I thought were logical/adequate answers, but I couldn't shake the feeling there was a specific process out there they were referring to...

Are there Marketing Gurus our there who can shed some light on this secretive process (I've already searched online extensively) and share what's involved? And does it involve a secret handshake? ;)

I have a feeling it involves many of the elements I use daily, just rolled into a specific process.

Thanks in advance!

Rahul

    rgsabnis,

try the following pick up a book at www.Amazon .com. It's called "Winning With the P&G 99: 99 Principles and Practices of Procter & Gamble's Success" by Charles L. Decker. Charles gives a great deal of understanding on the P& G culture, processes and even in some cases how they even deal with internal protocol. If there are any specific steps or secret handshakes I won't be able to let you know until I get back to my library where my book is. Thanks. Is there anything else I can do for you?

    Rahul,

I think I've found It! Diligence does pay off.

After going over the book I found what I think you are looking for on page 70 of the book "Winning With the P&G 99: 99 Principles and Practices of Procter & Gamble's Success" by Charles L. Decker. There is the following

    P&G Strategic Thought Model

    1.) Set Objectives
    2.) Diverge And Learn
    3.) Review Key Findings
    4.) Converge And Learn
    5.) Evaluate Options
    6.) Recommend Action

Each category has as small as two and as large as eight bullet points. Way too much information to type here. Pick up the book and you get the details. I hope this helps and thanks. Is there anything else I can do for you?
