Sales Communications

I handle go-to-market strategy in a well known internet company. I recently joined this job and before this I worked for one of the top 3 internet companies where it was easy to get access to company info, advertising measurements etc, perhaps because it was a public company and practically all marketers know how their advertising platform works.

But in my current company, i feel there is a culture where very selective info is distributed to sales teams. I personally think they need more data/info to sell effectively especially being an internet company. I took this issue higher up and now have been tasked with coming up with criteria for what should and should not be shared with sales.

Can anyone provide me a few pointers/standards for what should be communicated to sales and what should not be?

Thanks!
