Letterhead For All Sales Reps?

Posted by KathyAd on 25 Points
Hello, everyone. My company is revamping its letterhead/stationery, and I'm looking for opinions on how many different versions we should create (ex. different addresses). We have 3 offices (1 corporate headquarters and 2 prominent satellite offices), plus 4 full-time sales reps across the United States. Believe it or not, the company did not have printed letterhead in the past since it was in startup mode, so people would use a designed letterhead template in Word, and plug in their own address. I worked at another company with a similar situation, and we had a single letterhead design that showed all the different addresses running down the left side. Another company I worked at had just the corporate address, and the salespeople had to include their address as part of their letter. I am not really a fan of making letterhead for each sales rep. (a) Do you suggest running all the addresses down one side? (b) Do you think we should make the 9 different sets of letterhead? (c) Do you think we should just have 1 letterhead (for the 3 offices) and have the sales reps type their address at top of letter? My company is quickly moving from startup to "large" company, and I'd like to do things right. Thanks!!!!!!

ONE letter head. If the sales people want their address, they can put in under their signature.

I wouldn't put addresses along the side until you're present in several countries.

If the salespeople work out of their home, I would insist on using a mail drop. That way you control corresponence if they happen to leave the company...

Put the stationary on a word template -- have the corporate office on it-- but allow the template to add the address of the person its coming from. All will look the same to start building a consistant brand.

In my company, we do 99.99% of our business via email and phone, so we don't get letterhead printed-- we do the Word template method-- but our reps in other offices still just use the corporate address and type their own in if necessary. It's about consistency, as others have said.

My vote is one letterhead and let the reps add there address info. You could come up with a template for each office with the address in it so that people did not have to type it in. This allows you the greatest freedom if you add an office or move.

In this day and age the electronic contacts are almost more important than the physical address.
