How To Locate A Food Distributor?

Hello - We have recently started a wholesale cookie business and use a local kitchen incubator (we are licensed). We have a wholesome approach to baking, meaning we use many whole grains, nuts, fruits, seeds and less refined sugars. We are looking for a distributor/broker (not sure what the correct terminology is) that can help us sell our products in the NY/CT/NJ areas. We are not sure how to find these companies and how they operate. We would appreciate any help in gaining an understanding of this. Thank you.
