Need To Pitch An Idea To Fast Food Corporate.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Good Morning!

I have an idea that I feel would be an excellent profit maker for any fast food chain such as McDonald's, Burger King, etc.

How do I go about contacting someone to present this idea? Also, how can I protect my idea so that they don't use it without my consent or compensation?

Thank you!

    Here's McDonald's policy on unsolicited ideas: https://mcdonalds.com/contact/contact_us/unsolicited_ideas.html

You'll find Burger King's policy on unsolicited ideas here: https://www.bk.com/CompanyInfo/legalinfo.aspx (look under submissions)

Since neither one of these companies accepts outside submissions, you'll need to look somewhere else to sell your great idea. Will this work for a smaller, up-and-coming fast food enterprise?

When you identify that new target, here are some important first steps:

    1. Inquire first with the company to find out if they entertain new ideas from outside inventors. If they do, ask what their procedure is for presenting the idea to them. - Do not tell them what your idea is until after you have done #2.

    2. Before that meeting, meet with an intellectual property attorney - they deal with patents, trademarks, and copyrights, to find out how to protect yourself and your idea before you meet with the big guys.
