Scenario is this:
We are bringing together a panel of international subject matter experts in a prestigious field to have a dialogue which will be attended by their peers, other professionals related to the field and general public interested in the field.
The SME dialogue is to be followed by an opportunity for a small, select, knowledgeable group of professionals from within the field to ask additional questions as well as to respond to the opinions of the SMEs.
The topics for the event will be pre-determined based on survey results and the panellists will have an opportunity to prepare for the session.
In terms of the venue, it is a formal Dialogue Centre (round room; microphones for the SMEs as well as the select participants)
Here's where I'm stuck:
What do we call this event?
Conference (no - it's not only a listen & learn).
Roundtable (is it? what about the interactivity of the select participants?)
Panel discussion followed by Q&A (again, what about the peer group who will voice opinion as well as questions)
What is it?
Your help and conference-inspired suggestions are welcome & appreciated.
