Know-How Exchange : Strategy

MLM requires good sales skills. On the whole, the stuff that most people get involved with in MLM is not really marketing as we would define it here.

By either selling a product/service you truly believe in to your large network or by convincing others that the MLM is a great investment of their time/network.

MLMs rely heavily on your network of friends and acquaintances. You need to be willing to leverage those to do well in an MLM.

Personally I am not fond of them as I think they are a great way to jeopardize friendships.

Best strategy for MLM,

Don't get involved unless you are right at the top of the pyramid :)

If it is a brand new MLM with few or no dealers yet, then you have a chance to grow quickly with plenty of downliine.

If it has been around for a long time then don't waste your time scrambling around at the bottom of the pyramid.

Most MLM companies boast that they are paying out 90% in commissions down the line. So let's face it, if they can afford to give away all that money, it means that the real value of the product is Sh**t or less :))

As with any business, there has to be a consumer at the end wiling to buy and use the product. The problem with MLM is that all the dealers are using the products themselves in order to make PV. They end up consuming something that they wouldn't normally buy just to make quota and trying to convince themsleves that they got a good deal.

In the end, the only ones who got a great deal are those lucky few at the top of the pyramid earning hundreds of thousands in commission every month.

You can make it work, but it is very hard work to go out and sell everyday so if you want to work 12 hours a day selling and lose all your friends in the mean time, might as well look for another product to sell that people actually need and use anyway.

Matthew is spot-on. There's only one way to really make money in an MLM. Be first!

The people at the top of the pile make all the money.

The rest merely feed them.
