Great Product Great Brand Sign Up Customers!!!!!!

Im in a business development role in the route/convenience objective is to sign up new customers in a already competitive preimum juice market what would be a excellent strategy to prospect and close existing and new customers to out product offering? Covering a large teritory how would you start? what would be long term and short term strategy?

    I'd hit some events (eg sports sponsorship, metro stations etc) where you can get a large number of people to try the product and do sampling combined with vouchers to encourage follow up action.

    Blind taste tests at public events.
    Offer product at a discount to local schools (if your product is at least as good as the school's offering).

    Short term is to be in front of more people. That means cold calls. Also an e-mail campaign to owners....check the local chamber members. Don't sleep too much in the next week or so. Never pay at the pump. Always go inside to pay carrying a sample.

    Push and Pull, right? Tastings at Spas. Nail salons. Fitness Clubs etc.

    Large is a relative term. I've covered 20 states in some past sales positions. That may be small to you.

    Who are you looking for retail outlets, distributers, or the actual consumer?

    If you need to move a lot of product, I would focus on some of the retail outlets - Grocery Stores, Convenience Stores.

    I do not know what country you are in, but in the US places like Costco do "Road Shows" where vendors come in and demo and sell there product. These get pretty good exposure, but also allow you to sell product at the same time.

    Without being there it is impossible for anyone to do this but you. But, I feel you need to determine exactly who your target customer list might be. Don't say everybody - instead - who is the absolute best customer prospect?

    Once you have that defined, you can start looking for places to find these people. Let's look at a couple of the examples listed above, for instance public events. If you go to the Iowa State Fair, you may not have as great of success as if you go to the National Airobics Convention. The difference is the demographics. Think about your best demographic and you will spin your wheels less.

    I guess i want to target thoes clients that get the most foot traffic in their stores has anyone had much success with calling potential clients before seeing them cafes and restraunts are the general target for our preium juice how about getting a list of phone numbers?

    Not too hard to find numbers. Superpages.com is one place. I think you're better off NOT giving them warning. Just my opinion.

    If you come in cold with some material, and you don't see the right person, you can always call for an appointment.
